Find information requested of the applicants from the Board on the Information Request Page. Announcements and News Releases April 25, 2008 - The Board released the Final Scope of Study. This document was published in the Federal Register and incorporates comments received on the Draft Scope of Study. The Board issued a clarification to the Final Scope of Study on Monday, April 28, 2008. April 23, 2008 - The Board released Decision No. 9 (PDF 72KB) regarding the six proposed connections. Illustrations of the proposed track improvements are available on the Public Involvement page. February 15, 2008 - The deadline for comments on the draft Scope of Study has closed. The next opportunity for public review and comment will occur after the release of the Draft EIS. January 27, 2008 - The Board extended the comment period of the draft Scope of Study for the EIS to February 15, 2008. See the postcard that announced the extension. December 12, 2007 - This press release (PDF 18KB) from the Board is regarding public involvement and the review process for the project. This document contains information about what procedures will be followed for reviewing the impacts of the proposed acquisition and how public input will play a role in that process. On January 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, and 22, 2008, public open house meetings were conducted in Mundelein, Barrington, Joliet, Matteson, Gary, West Chicago, and Chicago (see map to the left for meeting locations). Over 2,000 interested citizens attended the meetings. A project fact sheet (PDF 31KB) prepared for the public scoping meetings provided a quick overview of the proposed acquisition and explained how to submit comments. On December 21, 2007, the Board issued a Notice of Intent (NOI) (PDF 52KB) to prepare an EIS and a draft Scope of Study for the project, which gives general project information and information about the first set of public meetings as well as outlines the process that will be followed in the environmental review. The NOI also includes information about the environmental aspects that will be considered in the EIS. The public meetings will present general information about the project and allow the public to submit comments on the study that will be incorporated in the final Scope of Study for the project. You can submit comments on the draft Scope of Study by using the Contact Information page. On November 27, 2007, the Board issued Decision No. 2: Notice of Acceptance of Primary Application and Related Filings; Issuance of Procedural Schedule (PDF 129KB), in which the Board accepts CN's application for acquisition and adopts a procedural schedule for consideration of the application.
